A Bug

by Meghan on January 3, 2009

It’s happened again.

If you’ve been with me for over a year, you might remember that at this time last year I was semi-obsessed with jewelry making.  And while that’s still on my list of things I’d like to be able to find the time to do, I’m suddenly obsessed with a whole new creative endeavor.

Scarf making.

I’ve found a few patterns on the internet, some GORGEOUS yarns on Etsy and I think I’m going to take the leap and attempt to make a few.

So, bear with me while I completely neglect this here site for a while.  Or, bear with me while I completely bore you with the trials and tribulations of being an amateur crocheter.  Is crocheter even a word?

This one is at the top of my list:

(And, yes, Court, I’ll get to Naomi’s blanket before I get too involved in the rest of it.  Maybe.  But either way, I’ll send you one of my gorgeous creations.  You’re welcome.)

I do the same thing. My latest is making aprons. Mind you, I am an idiot with a sewing machine.

Do share lots of pictures. I have a collection of handmade scarves that practically takes up my entire coat closet.

Cute scarf. I could never knit/crochet it or pull it off as an accessory, but it’s cute! :)

I go in cycles with crafts stuff, too. I can’t crochet, though I’ve learned to make a chain a time or two. Can’t knit either (my hands can’t hack it) so no scarf-making going on here. I look forward to watching your progress and your creations here.

And Heather, you spin yarn? How cool is that? :-)

Can you crochet something that goes 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds? I need a quicker way to get to Kroger. Thanks.

I am just not that gifted. But good luck. Mine is scrapbooking, I want to do that this year.

Lovely! :) I got a bunch of yarns over Christmas, now I just need to find the time to do something with them… Though I’m thinking hats more than scarves, for me ;)

Wow – that’s really cool looking. I even love the color.

I’m impressed by knitters (people who knit?)!!

So rumor has it, you bought way too much yarn…so why dont you send one of those gorgeous numbers my way, because you know I live in Colorado where we need scarves to stay warm and look cute! wink, wink!

I knit, but couldn’t make that lovely number.
