Craptastic

by Meghan on May 4, 2009

I’m here.

I’m trying desperately to get over a nasty sore throat and cough I picked up last week.

It’s kicking my ass.

I’m tired.

My 3 month old iPhone crapped out for good today. The woman at the AT&T store was completely perplexed by the “Temperature Warning” message it gives. SO, I get to pack the boys up and head to San Luis Obispo tomorrow to INSIST they replace it.  Fun times.

Also?  We got the final word on Zach’s eyes.  Surgery on the muscles is scheduled for June 29th. It’s minor and it’s something that is done ALL THE TIME, but it’s still freaking me the eff out.  It’s an hour under general anesthesia.  Nuff said.

Today the Universe apparently felt it needed to prove,  in more ways than one, what an asshole it is.

I’m going to bed.

xoxo

If ever there was a time I wished we lived closer, it’s now – so I could come over and take care of the boys for you while you get a weeks worth of sleep, and then when you woke up we’d have a few bottles of wine.

Craptastic indeed!

Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Sorry to hear about Zach’s surgery – even though it’s “routine” I know it’s still nerve racking. Punkin’s been under anesthesia more times than I’d like to remember and it doesn’t get easier. But just know you have a lot of people who will be thinking of you and praying for you all!

Hey sweetie, I hope you feel better when you wake up tomorrow. Sometimes it really does feel better to climb into bed and shut down early.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with stress over Zach’s surgery. It is never easy. I remember when my boy had surgery like it was yesterday, and everything went well…but, it was so hard.

Sending good thoughts your way.

Dude. Universe. BACK OFF, mmmmkay? I hear you on the cold; I have one too. I’m gonna use it to my advantage (as much as possible) to get out of class this morning, though, because – dude, swine flu! Can’t see patients, now, can I?!?! No, I thought not. Still, I’d rather the cold – with its attendant sneezes and coughs – just leave. Bubye, cold. Got that, universe? Huh?

Did you try going to the Apple Store? I have an IPhone and you get 12 months of total warranty with Apple. I hope you feel better soon!

Absolutely INSIST they give you a new phone. Oh, and here’s a little trick I learned: let the kids ransack the store while you’re having the discussion. Maybe give them a candy bar or two so they’re nice and chocolatey.

It makes it much easier for them to see the wisdom of giving you what you want and getting you the hell out of there!

Oh! And maybe you could cough on them and mention a recent trip to Mexico?

I cried the first time Grace had blood taken. Surgery is in another dimension. One hour seems like eternity I’m sure. I’d be freaking the eff out too. Hope today is better for you.

Oh honey, I’m so sorry that Zach has to have the surgery. Just know it is minor and will help him see so much better.

Wine, loads of wine is what you need. Hugs.

Poor little guy! Good luck with the surgery (and your iPhone adventure). I know what you mean about it “not being a big deal.” I don’t think there’s a ever a surgery that can be done on a child that would not be a big deal to a parent. My oldest had tubes put in his ears when he was 16 months old and I was a complete wreck leading up to and during the (10 minute) procedure.

Hang in there, my friend. The Universe seems hell-bent on beating us down these days, but it can’t. It just can’t.

(surgery is freaky, I know. Amelia and Ben both had surgery.)

Awww, hon. It’ll be ok. General anesthesia is scary, my boys have been under numerous times. Doesn’t get any easier. :( Good luck, babe.

Hey, just getting caught up and sorry to hear that Zach needs surgery. As I think I mentioned before I’ve been down that road with Caroline twice…she had surgery at 8 months and 20 months. It sucks, but these kids are resilient – far tougher than their mommies. I hope it goes smoothly and he has a super fast recovery! Let me know if you want to “talk” to someone who’s been through it (and who is anxiously awaiting the next doctor’s appt to make sure those eyes are still straight, and who is constantly checking the new baby’s eyes to make sure they are straight.) -Terri

Sorry to hear it :(
Misery loves company, though, and I’ve had a super sh**ty last couple of days. So…. be my Valentine?

Seriously though, I’ll be sending good vibe on June 29th.

Are you charging your phone with firewire? That may cause the overheating. Make an appointment for your Apple’s Genius Bar and I’m SURE they’ll take care of you!
