In case you hadn’t noticed, I kinda like taking pictures. Of my kids. Of things around me. Of anything that catches my eye, really.
I have a nice camera that I take with me if we’re heading out somewhere special. It’s also almost always at the ready at home as well.
The problem, though, is that I really don’t enjoy editing pictures. It takes too much time and I don’t have the patience to edit 100 photos appropriately. Even though I thoroughly enjoy Picnik. I can’t imagine how much I’d hate editing if I weren’t able to use it.
Anyway, I’ve been seeing a lot of my friend using Instagram lately so I finally jumped on the bandwagon. And? I’m OBSESSED.
I love it more than I love some of my other camera apps. Like, a lot more.
There are a ton of filters you can use, you can post to any number of social networking sites AND, you can follow your friends directly from the app. So you get to see what they’re posting as well.
You can choose the filter that shows your subject in the right light:
Also, there’s a “Popular” page that curates all of the Instagram images that are receiving a lot of “likes.” Not to brag, but I made it on there yesterday with this shot

So, I started to feel like I was spamming my Flickr and Twitter streams with my Instagram photos. And then a friend suggested Tumblr to me. And an idea was born. A site dedicated solely to my Instagram stuff! That way, people who want to see the pictures, but don’t have the app, can follow along and people who don’t want to see 800 pictures a day (kidding, more like 5) won’t have to unfollow me. It’s a win/win. PLUS, I have a new website to play with and it’s free!
