9 Months Old

Ollie is officially 3/4 of a year old today. INSANITY. I can’t believe he’s going to be one in three short months. Zachary, of course, is super excited about that because it also means that his 4th Birthday is quickly approaching. It’s going to be a long summer of answering questions about how much longer it is until his Birthday. Maybe I should make some sort of calendar for him.

Anyway, Ollie:

At his 9 month check up this week he was 19lbs and 26 3/4″ long. Which put him in the 25th percentile for weight and only the 10th for length. Apparently he’s quite a peanut, which explains why people always guess he’s around 6 or 7 months old. Poor kid got his mom’s build.

Developmentally he’s a super star. Pulling up to standing, starting to “cruise” along the furniture, turning and moving from holding onto the coffee table to holding onto the couch. His little legs are insanely strong and loves to be standing up more than anything. He dances now, which is really more of a slow sway, but it’s still adorable. He plays games and adores his big brothers. He practically shrieks when he sees them.

He LOVES to eat real people food. Which is awesome, except that he puts EVERYTHING he can find into his mouth. Because of this, I have perfected the finger sweep and he has learned to clench his mouth shut when he knows I’m going to do it. Little brat. Of the things that he’s allowed to put in his mouth, he’s most fond of string cheese pieces, rotisserie chicken and steamed green beans. I’m happy that there’s finally someone in the house who will eat green beans with me.

He even knows when he’s being naughty and cackles with glee as he bangs on my computer keyboard or as he’s crawling as fast as he can down the hallway when someone happens to leave the baby gate open. When he sees an opportunity, he takes it.

He gets away with a lot, though, because he’s so stinking cute.
