Mother’s Days

This weekend was jam packed and so much fun.

At the last minute we ended up going out with friends for Seis de Mayo on Friday night. Basically, it was just an excuse to get together, drink margaritas and eat Mexican food. Turns out, you don’t really NEED a reason for any of those things. It’s Friday! It’s an even numbered day of an odd numbered month! I did laundry today! It’s 85 degrees! It’s 55 degrees!

ALL of those things are perfectly acceptable excuses for margaritas and Mexican food with friends. You heard it here first, folks.

The rest of the weekend consisted of:

• The arrival of Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dick.
• Dylan’s T-ball game.
• A walk through a local nature preserve.
• A few rounds of bowling. My ass was handed to me on a platter by both my mother AND Dylan.
• Happy Hour on the patio of a local restaurant.
• A few hairy moments when DJ noticed that I had a TICK on my neck. The little bugger (pun intended) must have found its way onto me during our nature walk. Thankfully it hadn’t implanted yet, so it was pulled off, squished and flushed. Good riddance.
• Mother’s Day breakfast, lovingly prepared by DJ. Viva la Bacon!
• A sad goodbye to Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dick.
• A long walk through the neighborhood for me and a long bike ride through the neighborhood for the boys. A little too long, perhaps, seeing as Zachary could barely peddle by the time we made it home. Whoops.
• Late night appetizers and wine with some girlfriends.

Basically, you guys, it was an awesome weekend.  I hope your Mother’s Days were as great as mine!
