Soccer officially started on Saturday. For the next 12ish weeks, we will be spending a good part of every Saturday at the soccer fields. It will be interesting, to say the least. Especially as we try to spend as much free time as possible working on the house. I keep having to remind myself that in a few more years, we’ll have THREE kid’s sports schedules to coordinate. I need a drink just thinking about it.
Anyway, Zachary’s match was up first, and he was soooo excited to be able to play in his first game.
At this point, it looks like he takes after Dylan and prefers to play a more defensive position. He hung back and anticipated when the ball was going to head to the other side of the field. Which is a bit surprising, because I really expected him to get right into the middle of the action.
It doesn’t really matter, though. He had fun and that’s what counts.
Plus, oranges! Score!
Dylan’s game was up next and, just like last year, he hung back from the action a bit. He did get his feet on the ball a few times, though.
Of course, he managed to work up a sweat.
Given the amount of time we spent at the soccer fields, Ollie did really well. It definitely helped that his Grandparents were there to help entertain him, though.
He loved to people watch and spent most of the day pointing and exclaiming “Da!” and “Ga!” at different things.
We’re ready to do it all again next weekend. I just have to make sure I can find all of their soccer gear and have everything washed in time.
Only 12 weeks to go!

I remembered how happy it was whenever the whole family attends any of our kids’ games. I can’t take my eyes on my little boy. I am proud but a bit worried that he would get injured. I don’t remember who won but I remember how we happy that day was.
