In the last few days I’ve learned of the deaths of two people who were taken from our lives much too soon.
Last week, my friend Anna’s 12 year old son Jack died when he was swept away by floodwaters near their home in Northern Virginia. I am heartbroken for Anna, her husband Tim, their daughter Margaret, and the rest of their family and friends. It is a senseless tragedy and I can’t imagine what they are going through. Especially today as they hold services and say a final goodbye to their beloved Jack. My heart is heavy.
Then last night came word that Dylan’s former preschool teacher, who moved to Colorado last year, had been found dead in her home. No signs of foul play, no signs of trauma. Just gone. She was 30 years old and has a young daughter. She was a kind, caring, loving woman, with an amazing smile, who will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
May you both rest in peace. You will be missed and we will never forget you.
